The focal point of the library is the Memorial Book Collection. Memorial books, known as, yizkor books in Hebrew and Yiddish, are published by various individuals, organizations or corporate bodies to commemorate the Jewish presence and victims of a particular location. Individual works vary in scope, language and size, but all serve as remembrances. Their use as historical documents and genealogical tools is invaluable.
One may find the names of towns or areas for which the library–archive has a memorial book in its collection. Click on any of the ranges to determine if there is a book for a particular location.
The Holocaust Memorial Center is always interested in expanding its collections and would be honored to accept the donation of related artifacts, photographs, and documents. All donations are housed in a safe, archival environment.
