Memorial Book Collection
A focal point of the library is the Memorial Book Collection. Memorial books, also known as yizkor books, are published by various individuals, organizations or corporate bodies to commemorate the Jewish presence and victims of a particular location. Individual works vary in scope, language, and size, but all serve as remembrances. Their use as historical documents and genealogical tools is invaluable. With more than 1,500 titles, the HMC Library Archive has one of the largest collections of memorial books in the United States.
One may find the names of towns or areas for which the library archive has a memorial book in its collection.
